A Business Leader

A few years ago my marriage was collapsing. My wife had an affair and it nearly killed me, us, and our kids. The reality though, is that even before what happened between my wife and I, I was already dead. I was dead to what was going on around me, my heart, and relationships.

I was a workaholic–striving for acceptance from others and from God. I couldn’t rest and I didn’t know how to ask for help.

I was performing at the highest level and receiving all sorts of praise and affirmation from those I worked for and with. I was at the top of my game except my heart was dead and so was my marriage.

We landed at Restoring the Soul not knowing what to expect. All I wanted initially was to have my wife fixed and get us going on the “hard, straight and narrow” again for God. What I soon learned was that God had much more in store for me than fixing my marriage. God wanted me. He wanted all of me and He wanted to show me his love like never before.

It was an amazing, eye opening, Spirit filled 2 weeks. God met my wife and I in amazing ways. We have never felt the love of God like this. We felt his forgiveness and his renewing hope in our hearts.

We realized that our marriage was dead. But God gave us a new marriage built on a new foundation. A foundation where we can accept our failures, love each other without receiving something back and understand God has something much deeper and richer for us. We have received a gift. We have a new marriage, a new lease on life and many new opportunities to experience God’s grace than we did before.
